Life is Crazy

I am telling you all, just when you think you have a handle on what you think life is all about you get thrown that curve ball. I swear I want to get it right, I step up to the bat, I swing and want to hit that ball right out of the park and get a home run, but alas, it was a foul ball. I know with each step in life we are supposed to learn something. I am trying really hard to do it right.

What I have learned about myself is I am good at nurturing, at listening, at caring and helping so many others. I enjoy that part of my life so much. It comes easily to me, very naturally. That has made leaving behind my Quilt Shop so easy for me. What I do now truly impacts those I am with so much more. When it comes to helping family members with problems and issues I wish I could hold them tight and blink my eyes and make all the hurt go away instantly. I cannot do it instantly, but I will be there any hour day or night to help in any way I can.

So for all of you out there who are taking life for granted, who piss and moan over the little stupid stuff. Stop, think, be grateful for what you have. Take just one moment today to do or say something to someone, anyone, to make them smile or feel like they are worthy of life. You gotta laugh, I went in to Walmart yesterday the greater at the door, a lovely older woman, did her usual, Welcome to Walmart to me, I stopped and said to her, why thank you and I hope you have a wonderful day too. She looked at me and smiled and said, thank you, no one takes the time to say anything to me, they just look away hoping I won't talk to them. I told her she does a good job making people feel wanted in the store. That made her smile. It did not take much, it made her day, but it felt good to me. It is the little stuff. Knock your self down a peg or two and maybe get off your high horse and show a little compassion to someone, anyone today. Remember where you came from and how you got there. Be grateful.

Sorry I did not mean to preach, but this comes from my heart.

Gotta go now and spread some cheer to others.

My wish to one and all.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

One cold Friday!

Can it get any colder, I mean seriously now, I am not coping well with the cold air. I am wearing more layers than ever before. Well, I guess I really have to make it to the attic for my real winter coat tonight.

It is so pretty driving around in this snow covered world. The trees the houses everything is coated so beautifully. I just have not got the fortitude to take the camera out of the bag and actually take pictures of it. I guess I may be a three season picture taker.

All is going along pretty well with the family. Cara and Tim are planning their Engagement Party which should be a lot of fun. We will get to meet his siblings and have a lovely time.

We have no big plans for the week end. Larry will be watching the football game on Sunday, I will be working. I may try to tackle clearing out some more "stuff" from upstairs that are truly not needed. My New Years Resolution is to De Clutter more around here. I am such a pack rat, I swear I am like my Dad that way.

Have a great day and stay warm if you have to go out.

Happy New Year

Well I guess it has been a while, life has been so very busy and all good things are happening at the Fay household.

We had a great Thanksgiving, good food, wonderful family around us, lief was good.

Christmas Eve at Susan's house was small this year, but just as much fun. Santa came and handed out gifts to Jimmy and we had fun watching him play. To see Paul on the floor with him was priceless.

Cara is engaged to Tim, we are so happy for them both. We are looking forward to the engagement party next month. The ring could not be more special or beautiful and now we call her Sparkly. Lots to do in the months to come. I will try to post a lot more often with the latest news. I am so happy and proud of the two of them.

My camera club issued a challenge to pick only twelve pictures that mean something special to you taken within the past year. That is one very tall task. I have chosen each shot for different reasons. This is the link to see them: http://patriciasfay.zenfolio.com/p270967254

Note that the picture of the hockey players, they are the Arch Bishop Williams Team and #15 is my nephew Ryan, they won the all star finals and went on to play at the Boston Gardens. A boys dream come to true to be in the same locker room as the old Bruins players. It was on his birthday too. They may not have the game there, but to get that far was an honor. I am proud of him.

That is all for now. Gonna get some needed sleep.

Happy New Year and Good Health to You all.
