I am in my element. My Brother Paul and Lorena are getting married on Sunday at their new house. I am catering the event. It will be Italian all the way. I have help from Susan, Cara, Larry, Ian and others too. My sister Nancy is even getting involved from Virginia, she is having flowers for the tables sent up. My house smells so wonderful. We will take care of everything from flowers to all the food and the cake. This is going to be a wonderful week end. I will try to post pictures after the big event. My Mom would be proud of us all for making it such a special gathering.
All is well and life is good. My heart is swelled with love and pride for my family.
Pictures soon to come.

Tuesday 2/22/11
Morning,
I am so cold right now I swear I have no blood in me. Some days I just cannot warm up. I have on many layers and actually enjoy going out in the car to my clients so I can blast the heater in my car to get warmed.
Life otherwise is just great. Cara and Susan are in Cancun right now. They say it is 74 sunny hot and lovely. They are working on their tans and when I see them I will be very jealous. That is what is missing, baked in sunshine. I am happy for them both, they have had so much going on that this is a much deserved break for them. I am saving my vacation time to go to Washington in April for Cherry Blossom Time. We will be going by train and that is my favorite way to get there. We are going with some very good friends and I know we will have a blast. We are having fun planning more trips for the next few months. One being a return trip to Acadia in the Spring. We are hoping to make it to the Cape in the next month or two for a long week end getaway. That really helps break up the winter.
Family life is going well, everyone is fine. Work is a bit crazy, but to be expected at times.
So I hope you are all well, Wendy it was really nice to hear from you. Susan I got your letter, thanks. Has anyone been down by the old shop? They tore down the building that Hairplace One was in. The place looks odd to have it gone.
Gotta run to my next client.
Life is fun and easy without the long work load of having the shop. Larry and I put in a lot of hard hours to run it and in the end closing it brought us new life. Be happy for us.

Life Saturday Night
What a wonderful Day today was. I got to spend the day with Cara and Tim, we went to my Sister Susan's house for the afternoon and had a great time. Family is great. They are wonderful, it was and is good for the soul. We came back and got Larry and all went out to dinner in Brookline. We ate and had a great time. My Nephew is one of the managers and oh my goodness Jake is so handsome. What fun we had, we surprised him by showing up and it made me so happy to see him. I miss my brother Jimmy so much, I think of him often and his son is him all the way. Looks mannerisms all of it. I would like to say that my brother and I truly had a great relationship, and growing up with Jimmy and Bobby as my big brothers was the best experience any girl could have had. If it were not for them I would not have met or married Larry. I am getting off the train of thought I was on. Anyway, my Nephew Jake is handsome, wonderful charming, loving, endearing and has the most a heart of gold. He is married to a wonderful woman named Marie and I am so glad to say they now live close by. His sister Robyn and her husband Terry have a baby who they named after my brother Jimmy, and I love seeing the newest pictures of him posted online for us all to see. Dot you must be so proud of them all, I know I am.
I am glad the weather is getting better, we need more days of sunshine and warmth to melt more snow. This had been just crazy.
To my Sister Nancy in Virginia, Happy Birthday, I love you and miss having you local.
To Cara and Susan, have a wonderful time in Cancun, wish I had said yes long ago and were going with you two.
To my wonderful best friend and husband, Happy early Valentine's Day.
To name just a few of my quilting friends who stay in touch, thank you, that would be Susan, Dot, Wendy and many others. Too many right now to name. But thank yo for still being there for me and keeping in touch.
Have a great week end everyone.

Life is Crazy
I am telling you all, just when you think you have a handle on what you think life is all about you get thrown that curve ball. I swear I want to get it right, I step up to the bat, I swing and want to hit that ball right out of the park and get a home run, but alas, it was a foul ball. I know with each step in life we are supposed to learn something. I am trying really hard to do it right.
What I have learned about myself is I am good at nurturing, at listening, at caring and helping so many others. I enjoy that part of my life so much. It comes easily to me, very naturally. That has made leaving behind my Quilt Shop so easy for me. What I do now truly impacts those I am with so much more. When it comes to helping family members with problems and issues I wish I could hold them tight and blink my eyes and make all the hurt go away instantly. I cannot do it instantly, but I will be there any hour day or night to help in any way I can.
So for all of you out there who are taking life for granted, who piss and moan over the little stupid stuff. Stop, think, be grateful for what you have. Take just one moment today to do or say something to someone, anyone, to make them smile or feel like they are worthy of life. You gotta laugh, I went in to Walmart yesterday the greater at the door, a lovely older woman, did her usual, Welcome to Walmart to me, I stopped and said to her, why thank you and I hope you have a wonderful day too. She looked at me and smiled and said, thank you, no one takes the time to say anything to me, they just look away hoping I won't talk to them. I told her she does a good job making people feel wanted in the store. That made her smile. It did not take much, it made her day, but it felt good to me. It is the little stuff. Knock your self down a peg or two and maybe get off your high horse and show a little compassion to someone, anyone today. Remember where you came from and how you got there. Be grateful.
Sorry I did not mean to preach, but this comes from my heart.
Gotta go now and spread some cheer to others.

My wish to one and all.
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

One cold Friday!
Can it get any colder, I mean seriously now, I am not coping well with the cold air. I am wearing more layers than ever before. Well, I guess I really have to make it to the attic for my real winter coat tonight.
It is so pretty driving around in this snow covered world. The trees the houses everything is coated so beautifully. I just have not got the fortitude to take the camera out of the bag and actually take pictures of it. I guess I may be a three season picture taker.
All is going along pretty well with the family. Cara and Tim are planning their Engagement Party which should be a lot of fun. We will get to meet his siblings and have a lovely time.
We have no big plans for the week end. Larry will be watching the football game on Sunday, I will be working. I may try to tackle clearing out some more "stuff" from upstairs that are truly not needed. My New Years Resolution is to De Clutter more around here. I am such a pack rat, I swear I am like my Dad that way.
Have a great day and stay warm if you have to go out.

Happy New Year
Well I guess it has been a while, life has been so very busy and all good things are happening at the Fay household.
We had a great Thanksgiving, good food, wonderful family around us, lief was good.
Christmas Eve at Susan's house was small this year, but just as much fun. Santa came and handed out gifts to Jimmy and we had fun watching him play. To see Paul on the floor with him was priceless.
Cara is engaged to Tim, we are so happy for them both. We are looking forward to the engagement party next month. The ring could not be more special or beautiful and now we call her Sparkly. Lots to do in the months to come. I will try to post a lot more often with the latest news. I am so happy and proud of the two of them.
My camera club issued a challenge to pick only twelve pictures that mean something special to you taken within the past year. That is one very tall task. I have chosen each shot for different reasons. This is the link to see them: http://patriciasfay.zenfolio.com/p270967254
Note that the picture of the hockey players, they are the Arch Bishop Williams Team and #15 is my nephew Ryan, they won the all star finals and went on to play at the Boston Gardens. A boys dream come to true to be in the same locker room as the old Bruins players. It was on his birthday too. They may not have the game there, but to get that far was an honor. I am proud of him.
That is all for now. Gonna get some needed sleep.
Happy New Year and Good Health to You all.
